PARAMUS, N.J. – Reigning player of the week Jonah Silk ensured himself a second straight week of honors, scoring four goals and assisting on another as Hakoah cruised to a 6-2 road victory over Real Wyckoff.

Silk's slashing runs from the wing troubled the Wyckoff backline from the start, and within six minutes Hakoah had a 1-0 lead as Silk beat his man and blasted past the keeper. Soon after, Silk was the first man to a loose ball in the box after he had carried it down the wing and cut toward the middle, creating havoc in the Wyckoff defense. Silk blasted the ball off a Wyckoff defender's leg and into the lower corner to double the lead. The former Drew University standout completed a natural hat-trick when, after a good buildup through the midfield, midfielder Harel Nahar found Dov Glickman in the box. Glickman headed down for Silk, who proceeded to beat two men and finish from close range.

Hakoah's otherwise superb backline conceded a goal off of a half chance later in the first half. After Hakoah failed to clear a high ball in the box, a Real Wyckoff attacker volleyed the ball with the outside of his foot and the looping shot just snuck in over the outstretched arm of goalkeeper Aleksey Nazarov.

It did not take long for Hakoah to restore its three goal advantage. Moments before the half time whistle a long ball out of the back from Mathieu Gouverneur found Dov Glickman near the halfway line. Glickman deftly flicked the ball and put fellow forward Saeed Sulemana-Baba through. Baba streaked past his marker, controlled nicely, and chipped the onrushing keeper to make it 4-1 at the break.

Hakoah's continued to have the majority of the possession, and almost all of the scoring chances, in the second half. The final ball, however, was not there and Hakoah wasted numerous chances as they attacked the Wyckoff goal in waves. A breakthrough finally came off of a free kick. After a foul about 20 yards from goal on the left side, Silk lined up for the direct kick and placed it beautifully in the far corner to make the score 5-1 to the visitors.

Later, Silk turned provider, crossing nicely from the wing to find Baba free in front of goal. Baba headed it home smoothly, and Hakoah had a 6-1 advantage. A penalty awarded for a handball gave Real Wyckoff its only real scoring chance of the second half, and the home team took advantage of the opportunity to salvage a second score.

The strong all-around performance will boost Hakoah's confidence as it prepares for another away match next week at ADIGHA F.C.
