TEANECK, N.J. – Sport Club Hakoah Bergen County announced on Friday, March 16 the addition of defender Jake Weinberg pending approval from the New Jersey Soccer Association. Weinberg comes to Hakoah after graduating from William Paterson University where he was a member of the NCAA Division III Pioneers soccer team.
"Jake is a young defender who should improve our back line," said Hakoah general manager Ron Glickman. "With the loss of Malik Malik in the offseason, we have been searching for ex-collegiate players to join the club. Jake had a good match in a trial with Hakoah against AS Menora New-York and should be a good addition to the squad. He is expected to be available for our first match after the winter break against Real Wyckoff on March 25."
Weinberg, 23, played for Paramus High School where he was an all-North Jersey, first team all-league and all-county selection. In 2006, he helped lead the team to a county title.
